Tommy Hilfiger bringing preppy Americana to Brompton Road

AUGUST 24, 2011
Tommy Hilfiger Runway Spring 2011
Tommy Hilfiger has yet another reason to adjust his prestigious polo collar in excitement, as it was announced a flagship store, his largest in the UK, will be opening on London’s Brompton Road 24 November 2011.  Mr. Hilfiger’s latest addition will be rubbing elbows with other premium retailers such as Burberry and Mulberry, so the preppy flagship will fit right in with surrounding British namesakes.
The 8,288 square-foot space will replicate New York’s Fifth Avenue global flagship with its oak flooring and walnut fixtures over two floors while housing men and womenswear, catwalk collections, sportswear, childrenswear and the Hilfiger Denim range.  The floors will portray Tommy’s signature style with vintage furniture mixed with more contemporary art to reflect the classic and cool American atmosphere.

“I am really excited to open our European flagship store on London’s prestigious Brompton Road,” said Tommy Hilfiger. “Since starting my brand in 1985, prep has been my main inspiration, and as the birthplace of preppy style, England is very close to my heart. London, rich in culture, history and art, is the perfect location for us to anchor our largest UK flagship store, and offer our customers the complete classic American cool Tommy Hilfiger lifestyle.”

London’s fashion lovers should unite on this special Thursday opening to give thanks for all that Tommy Hilfiger has done for the industry, as it it would only be right to celebrate the American heritage brand on the American holiday, Thanksgiving.  (Unless of course you are a true fashion guy or gal, and in that case, hold the turkey).

Be sure to visit the Tommy Hilfiger flagship store at 63-65 Brompton Road, SW3.
